This blog is about dance injury in general, and in particular, my own personal recovery and rehabilitation following a calf injury. There is a lot about hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Type III Hypermobility Syndrome and the multisystemic nature of my treatment, including documented physiotherapy treatment

Initial Acute Injury - 10 February 2008
On 10th February 2008 I tore my right calf or "gastrocnemious" muscle, medially during the allegro or jumping section of a ballet class. I heard the tear, and although I am a complementary health therapist already, practising the Bowen Technique, this still didn't stop me getting my leg checked out at my local A&E department, to be absolutely sure.
