Into Hyperextension
Grand Battement Derriere
As and when my ballet teacher ever discovers this blog she will have a field day over this particular image which has multiple faults including the dancer indulging her hypermobile knees and lumbar spine. One of the problems of having JHS is in not knowing one's own personal boundaries with regards to joint limits - it is a danger which allows the JHS person to to be blissfully unaware of the potential trauma they are causing their joints at this end range of movement. This is where proprioceptive training is a vital part of the rehabilitation process.

Great picture! The EDNF is collecting pictures of all types of EDSers. When their call comes out again for more pictures, think about sending this one in. It's a perfect example of our proprioceptive issues.
