This blog is about dance injury in general, and in particular, my own personal recovery and rehabilitation following a calf injury. There is a lot about hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Type III Hypermobility Syndrome and the multisystemic nature of my treatment, including documented physiotherapy treatment
In yoga my teacher recently commented I have hyperextended legs. I did not know what she means and did some googling and got to your blog. I also do ballet - my legs arent as bad as this but I find getting my feet together in first position and in parallel somewhat difficult (I have to bend my knees a little). I always thought it was my fat thighs - now I know different. Thanks for your blog, its really interesting and informative. I'm 31, I have danced for years (just as a hobby) I also do Iyengar yoga and Pilates so I relate to a lot of the things you are talking about.
